Village life in Gozo

The beauty of Gozo is that it is a greener, more laidback version of its sister island. In some villages it seems like time stood still and life did not evolve with the same speed as it did in other areas. If you walk or drive along the village streets in Gozo, you are likely to come across old men and women sitting at the corner of the road or on a wooden bench, idly watching the world go by. Some sit alone, others with their long-time friends or relatives. You will see that some village people dress like their parents and grandparents did -men in checked flannel shirts and women in long black dresses, hair pulled back and sometimes covered in a scarf.
