Our stay at Lantern was excellent! This hotel is family run, and the caretaker, Joseph, did everything he could to ensure a pleasant stay, including staying up late to accommodate our late arrival. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the breakfast (made in traditional Maltese style by Joseph and his family) was freshly made and very good. We felt very well cared-for during our stay here. They even watched our luggage while we were out sightseeing after we had checked out, which made the day af.
all reviews » I spent two fantastic weeks at the Lantern Guest House. The family that run this place worked extremely hard to provide a clean and friendly atmosphere and meet requests from guests. The fan in my room was ample to provide relief from unseasonable heat & breakfast had a variety of choices including Fresh Fruit, Cereal, Breads, Ham, Salami, Chese, Cakes and Bacon and eggs (cooked as per your request) I thank the Saliba family for their Hospitality!. The hotel was wonderfully clean and had all the facilities you would need including fridge, en-suite, tv(not many english channels). Joe, the owner is very polite and good at what he does. He also makes the breakfast in the morning. The hotel is just a 1 min walk to the bus stop where there are direct connections to the harbour and Victoria. Loved everything. Very clean and a lovely place to stay. The people that were there at reception were just lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was very nice and the lady there was only too happy to cook you exactly what you liked. Lots of great resturants and shops within walking distance to beach as well Loved it! Nice desserts as part of breakfast - one day home made tiramisu, other day some other sweet + other 2 cakes. the helpfulness of the staff, the balcony, the wonderful breakfast, the fact that is was so close to the beach. we slept so well. it was quiet. also had a fridge!!. Was Impressed with the finish of the bedrooms. Even more impressed when I saw the bathroom had marble from top to bottom!!! Very friendly stuff!. Joseph the owner is very friendly, the hotel is nice, good localization. They have a restaurant , food is very good and very good prices too. Joseph and his mother was very kindless. Services to breakfast was good. A lot fruit and we could order beens and vegetables - it was nice. Owner very friendly and helpful. Good value money guest house, great location for catching the bus and getting around the island. My only tiny, tiny complaint was that I kept bumping my knee on the (hard) corner of the bed, but that can perhaps be attributed to my clumsiness. Also be aware that payment is cash-only before you arrive (we were prepared for this). Quite poor selection for breakfast (beside fruits and sweet) - english breakfast + just cheese and two types of ham. To must noice from the street morning and evening and from the kitchen in morningtime. From the deskript of the hotel was standing: view to the Mountains. It was not like you wrote.
