| When it comes to diving, the
Maltese Islands are for sure the ideal destination. Fortunately,
the islands have maintained the surrounding seas’ natural
habitat and this gives the diver a unique opportunity to
photograph and observe rare species of fish in clean waters.
The warm crystal clear waters ensure near perfect diving
conditions to enjoy the drop offs, caves, tunnels, grottos
and spectacular scenery for which the Maltese coastlines
are renowned. Even during winter, diving can still be practiced.
This is due to the fact that in Malta, winters are short
and cool and sea temperature never goes down below 13 degrees.
Many species of fish find shelter in less deep and warmer
waters and therefore the islands have a greater advantage
on other countries where winters are not as warm.
The combination of cliffs, caves, wrecks, sandy and rocky
sea beds means that one can see a large variety of fauna
and flora in the Maltese waters. Due to the size of the
islands, one can also take advantage of the fact that more
than one diving site can be visited while on holiday since
no place is too far!
