Last night tonight of a wonderful weeks stay with Violet and Albert at Ta Bertu. A beautiful Maltese home awaits you with all you need for a fantastic holiday. Set in beautiful gardens with a fabulous pool, you are made to feel totally welcome by your hosts who are full of information and helpful advice if you need it. What you do need is a car, as the house is off the beaten track (quite literally) and to make the most of the island and all the wonderful places it is a must. Lovely typical .
all reviews » Albert and Violet are a lovely couple and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the pool is lovely and the meals were fantastic and value for money. You must try Alberts home made wine it is delicious (we brought 2 bottles home with us to have at Christmas). We stayed in room 3 but we did not have any of the problems that some other reviewers had. It was not noisey when someone had a shower. Everywhere was accessible by bus and was very easy to use. Even though the b. My stay at Ta' Bertu gave me one last surprise before I leave this beautiful country. When I arrived there I was lost and tired, even starting to get homesick when I was settling things in my own room. As I went downstairs to join the other travelers and the host family, a sense of warmth came back to me. If you are looking for a home-like place on your journey, this would be a perfect place. Another thing worthy of mentioning is the delicate interior design of the house. It is full of Maltese . Violet and Albert (the owners) are very warm and kind persons. You can feel yourself in Ta'Bertu like Home. They have only 4 rooms, so you can feel very comfortable and there is a chance you will meet some new friends. It is located near the airport in Hal Far - it's a perfect place for people, who want to spent their freetime in quiet and isolated place without the crowd. I can recomend bike trips in the neighborhood - Marsaxlokk, St. Peter's Pool, Blue Grotto, ancient tempels or Dimli Clifs. . Violet and Albert made us very welcome. The breakfast was delicious, with home-made jam, and we also had dinner with them one night which was also lovely. The wine made from their own vines was amazing. The house is beautiful, and there are orange trees and grapevines in the garden. If we had been there later in the year, it would have been lovely to use the pool. The place is quite and calm. Breakfasts and dinners are excellent. The owners Albert and Violet are very positive and great personalities, always reachable for guests, always giving a help or advice. They were also a wealth of information about day-to-day life in Malta as well as the island's rich history. Wonderful hosts and great hospitality. A warm welcome over a fine glass(es) of Cabernet Sauvignon from their private vineyard. Location close to the Airport and the Neolithic Equinox/Solstice Temples. Breakfast was rich and 'farmlike'. The grounds are large and comfortable. Great pool. If you are thinking about staying here just go ahead and book it! The owners are such a lovely couple who really go out of their way to make you feel at home and help with holiday advice. It's a beautiful place for a relaxing stay away from the crowds. Violet and Albert made us very welcome-home from home. Very knowledgeable about places of interest which was a great help. We travelled the island by bus„ which couldn't have been easier.pool very nice at end of a hot day. Violet and Albert were expert hosts and very interesting to talk to. They had great ideas of where to go and what to see. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. Loved it all.... But you really do need a car!!!. It was a bit hard for me to find at night because the bus drivers in Malta weren't quite sure about specific houses either. But a bit of homework ahead of arrival would solve it. Everything was ok - it might has been a paradise if the pool was already open (we were in May and the pool needed to be painted before the high season). The only bad thing about this B&B was it's location: it is convenient for the airport, but it is also right next to a refugee camp and a huge industrial dockyard. We spent a couple of nights here, and although we enjoyed our stay, I'm glad we stayed somewhere a bit more central for the rest of our holiday. Room without conditioner. Room had no desk or work table, nor 1 or 2 easy chairs, just the bed. Not a place to work or relax...just sleep. bathroom had limited hot water, weak pressure and a bad shower head. The B&B is to be reached via a secluded and very bumpy dirt road which is very difficult to locate. No sign along the road. Nothing. The location was hard to find but once we found it we were surprised how quiet it was.
