Mixed feelings about this hotel. First impressions were good - nice big marble lobby with comfortable lounge. Also my room, when I finally found it, was large, attractive and very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. It's just that getting to it was a pain. Take the lift to floor 1 then walk through an underground tunnel then take another lift to my floor. Doesn't sound that hard but the lift kept stopping at other floors even with nobody there and there's no indication when you step out the lif.

The impressive and imposing looks of this hotel are supported by equally impressive facilities and very professional and friendly staff. The hotel is situated on the main road through Mellieha, making it very easy to find and, with a bus stop immediately outside, a handy base for travelling to Gozo, Valletta and Mdina. We made use of the sauna and steam room facilities which were clean and serviceable. The hotel has a choice of dining facilities. On the one night we ate there we had a very nice. Staff very helpfully and friendly from the moment we arrived. Indoor pool a bit small but pleasant, the unsheathed water was a bit cool for the outdoor pool, though some brave souls including my teenagers did venture in 1 day. Well placed for the local area with bus stop just outside. Small restaurants and bars within a pleasant walks distance. Lovely little town to wander through. We loved the little cafe next to the childrens playground, fantastic view and really cheap, I.E. we had lunch for . Stayed for three nights on a family holiday (stayed as part of a father-daughter team for our birthdays!) Location: Hotel is located in central village of Melliha, good access to bus services to both Valetta and Melliha Bay/ ferry to Gozo. Rooms: We have been communicating with the hotel general sales manager (Mr Borg) who was very kind and helpful in giving us instructions and obliged us with our preferred choice of room (overlooking courtyard rather than reception!) and even tried to upgrade . Service, as always, is what this hotel is about. No matter how many Maltese hotels I have tried, this is where I keep going back to. The catering is of a very high standard, and the staff are not happy to 'feed you', but to ensure you love the dining experience. Compared to 5-star hotels in London, this 4-star beats them hands-down. Two days after checkout, I ran into one of the waiters from their breakfast restaurant, and he rushed over to greet me, thanking me and asking for feedback about my. The Maritim Antonine is one of my favourite hotels in the world. The staff are always friendly and helpful. This is my eleventh visit to the hotel and I am going back again in a few weeks. The rooms are clean and tidy and the food in the restaurant is always excellent. The staff in the restaurant including Miriam are always there to help and always smiling. We love the cocktail bar with Don the barman always willing to create a cocktail for us that is unique. I would definitely recommend this h. Great breakfast included with plenty of choice swimming pool and whirlpool bath free of charge with room sauna and steam room free of charge with room very big room with balcony and sofa plenty to do in the hotel, I.E. bars, restaurants, spa, pool Outdoor area where you could sit and outdoor pool where you could sun bathe (there was also a rooftop bar and pool which was closed when I was there - February 2013) Close (1 min walk) to shops and restaurants Bargain price, I booked through this webs. We liked the location of the hotel and we liked the balcony of our room with views to the garden and the sea. The breakfast was good. The room (350) was big,comfortable and silent spite of being near a door pass. The indoor swiming pool was excelent for relaxing after all the day although the jacuzzi was not working well. Le Mirage Bar, inside the hotel and with live music It's a relaxing and enjoyable moment while you drink something. The hotel have a bus stop just in front of it. All the staf. The entrance to the hotel was beautiful with marble everywhere and was spotless. The reception desk was always manned and the telephone to reception was answered almost immediately. The dining room was spacious and the food was varied and delicious! Plenty sun loungers around the 2 open air pools. Room was clean and comfortable, tidied and checked every day. Our room had a beautiful view of the coast line from the balcony. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Large bedroom and bathroom ,with a great view over the bay in Mellieha. Breakfast buffet has a good range to choose from . WiFi is free and an excellent signal at all times .Buses stop outside the hotel door and will take you direct or via a connecting service to anywhere in Malta and the Gozo ferry is about 15 minutes away by public transport .Spa facilities are excellent . Some of the rooms are linked to the main hotel via a tunnel which runs under the road. We found this a little disorientating to begin with, but by following the clear directions in the lifts we soon got over it. Wifi signal intermittent at best and the toiletries provided in the room were basically one big tub of shower gel shampoo on the wall, not great quality. Shame about the awful "juice" aka orange flavoured water! Staff: Friendly staff. I hate myself for having booked such a short stay. Two extremely minor issues: Strange smell in corridor, not an issue though as I wasn't sleeping in the corridor! Kettle in room gave funny taste to the water, even after I got the kettle changed for a different one (I'd imagine it has something to do with being used for desalinated water although I used bottled water). I just didn't bother with it but I'm sure the bar in reception would have given me boiling water if I asked. We are not very satisfied with the cleanliness because we find that the bedding is not changed every day. We booked half board, but we could check that the dinner buffet was not as good as the breakfast buffet, less if you go to dinner at the last hours, because all have cooked at 6 o'clock... The tunnel adjoining the 2 parts of the hotel was badly smelling of sewers. The lifts need modernising to be more efficient and quicker. Water, tea or coffee should be offered to those on half board during the evening meal - drinks of any kind had to be bought!. Having to check out .
