This was a great place to stay. I was recommended Palazzo Citta Valletta by a friend who had stayed there a couple of years ago. We stayed in the Garden Suite on the ground floor which opens out onto the Pallazzo's courtyard where you can dine outside if you to use your self catering facilities. It was very quiet being so sheltered. We visited at the beginning of June, the weather was perfect (mid 20s all week) and the apartment was always a comfortable cooler temperature. Franck was hands down the highlight of our stay, extremely attentive, generous with his time, ready to play concierge if need be, and a marvelous point of entry into Maltese history and culture. We'll never forget his invitation to a glass of wine in his beautifully appointed apartment, where the history of the Knights of St. John seeps through the walls. We had the penthouse in the same building, were delighted with the spaciousness and the view out to the harbor. St. John's Co-Cathedral is cl.
We were absolutely thrilled with every aspect of our stay in Palazzo Citta Valetta The owner, Frank was the most welcoming, interesting and interested host we have ever encountered on our many travels. From start to finish he made sure we were extremely well looked from the chauffeur driven car on arrival, a lovely bottle of wine and lots more in between. The spotless apartment furnished very eclectically and beautifully oozed history and charm, combining elegant antiques with modern amenities.
This was our first visit to Malta. Being met at the airport made the transfer into Valletta a pleasure.
The Palazzo has been converted into apartments with great skill by the owner. We stayed in the San Gwann apartment on the first floor, which is very stylish, sophisticated and spotlessly clean. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble.
The Palazzo is located wonderfully for exploring Valletta. We were given great tips for places to eat and visit.

My stay at Palazzo Citta Valletta was perfect. I have only superlatives to describe my apartment: the comfort, decor and ambience, and the courtesy and consideration of the owner, Franck.
The Palazzo is conveniently located for the main streets, shops and sites of Valletta and I was given excellent information about the town, the outlying countryside and the best historical sites to visit by Franck, as well as valuable insights into the way of life in Malta.
I recommend Palazzo Citta Valletta .
I am a regular visitor to Malta and since discovering the Palazzo will always book there in future. Expertly and sensitively restored and beautifully appointed 17th century building is centrally located and has all modern conveniences including free and perfectly functioning wifi, int'l tv satellite access, well-equipped kitchen, and an abundance of electrical outlets. Light housekeeping daily and no surprise fees upon check-out. Entire stay was a delight and the host/owner is the definition o.
Super location in the centre of a beautiful city.
Attentive care lavished on the property by the owner and his staff.
A truly historic building which has been converted and maintained sympathetically.
Lovely touches e.g. scented candles lit in the courtyard every night, necessities like water, milk etc in the flat on arrival, interesting furniture and antiques.
Free efficient collection from the airport late at night.
Air conditioning, fans and lots of lovely clean towels.
The friendly attitude of the management who made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful, yet unobtrusive. Thanks Frank. The apartment had an old world charm which we love and to be immersed in an historic building of 1622 is exactly what we looked for; not interested in resorts. The apartment was well appointed and very close to the Valletta city centre and historic sites. One of our top 5 travel experiences and we have travelled to many places over the world.
Everything. I can only repeat what others have already said and agree. A beautiful building renovated and furnished beautifully. Franck is a gracious host, welcoming, helpful and informative. Unlike many self catering apartments cleaning materials, washing up liquid etc were supplied also coffee/tea and sugar, bed was made daily and bathroom cleaned daily and a fresh set of towels supplied. The location was excellent.
Highly reccomended place if you want to stay in Valletta for a few days.
Very good localization, friendly and sympathetic owner.
The apartment (penthouse) very spacious, clean, equipped as described, with very cool terraces from which you can admire the unforgettable view of Valletta, the Three Cities and the sea.
My only complaint--certainly not a dealbreaker--is that quality of the sheets and linens weren't quite what I'd have expected for the price. Certainly an easy fix (and a gentle suggestion for improvement...).
There is nothing to say here; I liked the whole experience.
Double bed too small for this day and age.
None that I can think of.
The only thing we did not like was leaving!!!!.
