Getting from Malta to Gozo

Outward transport from Malta to Gozo is included by most tour operators, but there are three other alternatives that you can opt for, if you would like to travel independently.

The most commonly used service for crossing the Gozo channel is by ferry from Cirkewwa (at the northern tip of Malta) to Mgarr on Gozo.  The crossing takes about 30 minutes, and transports vehicles as well.  Confusingly, you don’t require a ticket to get on the boat at Cirkewwa, but you have to buy your two-way ticket either on landing to Mgarr or later on, just before departure from Gozo.

Another conventional ferry service takes passengers and cars from Sa Maison in Malta (Marsamxett Harbour) to Mgarr in Gozo.  This takes 1hr 15min and sails once a day.

The Gozo channel company is in control for the smooth management of these services.  For latest timetable please visit www.gozochannel.com

Getting from Malta to Comino

A Malta-Comino link is available from Marfa (1km from the Gozo ferry - Cirkewwa) and Sliema on numerous pleasure boats and medium sized yachts.
